Rivalry, a Canadian online betting startup, specialized in esports and traditional sports globally. During my tenure, they became the leading esports betting brand and went public in 2021. After my departure, they rebranded as crypto token, sports betting, and casino brand.
The Project
Build a global in-house social media and content department from scratch that operates in Europe, the Americas and Asia. I developed the global and localised strategies, infrastructure, and processes, then recruited and trained the teams to execute in both global and localized markets.
The Objective
Launch the brand, disrupt the esports betting market globally and establish Rivalry as a top three brand within each region. Due to success in year one this quickly evolved to establishing Rivalry as the biggest and most engaged betting brand globally.
The Results
An innovative industry first strategy that created a network of four global social media and content accounts that filtered down to ten hyper localised and esports specific accounts within three years that produced:
- 600k followers
- 650m impressions
- 42m engagements
- 6.5% engagement rate
- 4.8k new customers
